APC reacts to mass defection of Senators, Reps members to PDP

The All Progressives Congress, APC, has reacted to the mass defection of 15 senators and 37 House of Representatives members from its fold to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

The APC mentioned that regardless of the defections, it nonetheless remained in agency management of 25 states of the 36 states of the federation, sustaining a transparent majority within the Federal House of Representatives and State Assemblies.

A press release by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi reads:”The All Progressives Congress (APC) notes the event within the National Assembly with the defection of a few of our members from the party.

“In the last couple of weeks, our Party leaders have labored to stave off this situation as responsible party leaders would do. It would appear, nevertheless, that the people concerned have totally different concerns past the grievances that they have been keen to debate and which our leaders have been keen to deal with.

“As a really democratic party, we respect the right of each citizen to political affiliation. Subsequently, we urge our members to stay calm as we proceed to work arduous to place our party strongly for the next general elections.
