Senators Adesoji Akanbi and Lanre Tejuoso, who reportedly left the All Progressives Congress(APC) for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday have returned to the party.
Senator Lanre Tejuoso, who Senate President Bukola Saraki claimed left the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) on Tuesday returned to APC on Wednesday.
Sen. Tejuoso, representing Ogun Central, introduced his return at a meeting between APC Senators and President Muhammadu Buhari at the Aso Rock on Wednesday evening.
While introducing himself to the President, he said: “Mr President, your son has returned home.”
Additionally at the meeting was Senator Adesoji Akanbi, Oyo South, who Saraki additionally claimed had joined the PDP. He emphatically denied the list of defectors as dubious the next day, saying he still remains a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
His showing up at the meeting with President Buhari affirmed his faith within the APC.
Senator Shehu Sani from Kaduna, who has been blowing cold and hot about his political allegiance was additionally at the meeting, exchanging banters together with his colleagues.
Those attending the meeting included Kabiru Marafa, Sen. Adamu Aleiro, Ibrahim Gobir, Bala Ibn Na-Allah and Abu Ibrahim, Aliyu Wamako.
Others were Barau Jibrin, Abdullahi Gumel, Ahmed Lawan, Aliyu Abdullahi, Ali Ndume, Abubakar Kyari, David Umaru, Kabiru Gaya, Abdullahi Adamu and Baba Kaka Garbai.
Sen. Magnus Abe, George Akume, Francis Alimekhina, Sunny Ugboji, Andrew Uchendu, Ovie Omo-Agege, Ben Uwajimogu, John Enoh, Nelson Effiong, Andy Uba, Oluremi Tinubu, Yusuf Abubakar and Hope Uzodinma were also in attendance.
Other senators in the meeting were Solomon Adeola, Tayo Alasoadura, Ajayi Boroffice, Fatima Rasaki, Yele Omogunwa, Gbenga Ashafa, Olanrewaju Tejuoso and Yahaya Abdullahi.
The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, believed to be hobnobbing with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was amongst those that weren’t at the meeting.
With Akanbi, Tejuoso and Sani now firmly identifying with the All Progressives Congress(APC), the party has now elevated its majority within the Upper Chamber to 54, sufficient to dictate the course of policy.
